Great North American Grill
About This Spot
Stepping into Great North American Grill, you’re welcomed by a quietly confident atmosphere that strikes a balance between casual comfort and a touch of refined warmth. Nestled in Burlington, this spot feels like a thoughtful retreat from a busy day—whether you’re settling in for a business meal or a relaxed dinner after travel. The pace here is unhurried, inviting you to settle in and savor the moment rather than rush through.
The space gently hums with low conversations and the subtle clink of plates and glasses, creating a familiar backdrop that feels at once approachable and quietly polished. Staff move with a pleasant attentiveness, lending a human touch that adds to the ease without feeling intrusive. It’s a place where you might strike up a friendly nod with a fellow diner or simply enjoy a private moment of calm.
While the menu nods to classic North American flavors, the heart of the experience lies in how the dishes come together with uncomplicated sincerity. You might find yourself drawn into a bowl of rich French onion soup, its deep, savory warmth crafted with care rather than convenience—something a frequent traveler might recognize as a rare comfort and highlight. Or perhaps a steak salad arrives with fresh, vibrant notes that speak more to attentive preparation than to spectacle.
Great North American Grill doesn’t rush you from start to finish. Instead, it encourages the kind of lingering that turns an ordinary meal into a quietly memorable experience. Here, the moments between bites—whether shared smiles, a genuinely warm greeting, or the soft background chatter—are just as important as what’s on the plate. It’s a space that quietly invites you to enjoy not just the food, but the human moments threaded through a well-loved neighborhood spot.

Had the lobster role. loaded but was not worth the price. This place is a fish and chip house trying to be upscale and the prices are outrageous for the fare.

Had a quick meal after cross Atlantic flight. Enjoyed it and the wait staff were very friendly.

Hilton Garden Inn, bar and Grill... Best French onion soup in Canada that I've found to date. To make it clear , I travel all over Canada often, I try French onion soups whenever I can , this is my favorite to date out of ...easily 100 different locations spread between Shediac NB and Vancouver BC... This soup is made in house , not boiled in a bag. I also ordered a steak salad, chimichurri, absolutely fantastic also, steak bites that were cooked to my liking lots on the plate , not over dressed... The cheese was plentiful and tasty, everything was fresh. Pricing was fair in my opinion, not too much for what you were getting , in fact I'd say they could charge more and it would be worth it. Chef José and hostess Sharon were great. Really friendly, I would definitely recommend you try it. Surrounded by other restaurants that serve similar foods... This is a pleasant surprise that you might not expect in the lobby of a hotel.

Good food service slow. Had a complete meal waitress never came back to the table. Had an ice tea never got refilled. Ordered soup came to the table with my dinner plate not before.
